NICEIC is a trading name of NICEIC Group Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Electrical Safety Council. Under licence from the Electrical Safety Council, NICEIC acts as the electrical contracting industry’s independent voluntary regulatory body for electrical installation safety matters throughout the UK and maintains and publishes registers of electrical contractors that have been assessed against scheme requirements, including the national electrical safety standard BS 7671:2008 , the IEE Wiring Regulations.

They employ more than 70 full-time area engineers and over 100 associates across the UK, who make annual visits to registered contractors assessing their technical capability and inspecting samples of their work.

They have a head office staff of more than 80 people including electrical engineers and professional support teams.
